Robin Fowler, Founder

Dr. Robin J. Fowler, founder of Botanical Sciences, has been the premier pain practitioner in Atlanta for over 15 years. Throughout his career, he has been instrumental in setting the goals and standards for the interventional pain treatment industry. Board certified in anesthesiology and pain medicine from the American Society of Anesthesiology, Dr. Fowler specializes in interventional pain management and therapeutic spinal injections. He currently serves as a founder and chairman of Alliance Spine & Pain Management with branches located across Georgia including 20 medical clinics and 15 ambulatory surgical centers. As an active member of the community and small business owner, Dr. Fowler is dedicated to helping local communities flourish by providing sustainable operations and opportunities for employment in Georgia, currently employing more than 500 Georgians. He also contributes to numerous charities such as sponsoring an endowment at Emory University, Morehouse University school programs, and nursing scholarships in Georgia through Alliance Spine & Pain.

Using his deep knowledge in the medical field, Dr. Fowler takes great pride in providing compassionate, thorough, and personalized care for his patients. He believes pain should be managed only as medically necessary and under the close monitoring of a practitioner with leading edge knowledge. Across his practice, Dr. Fowler has implemented an integrative approach to patient care with the facilities to offer the most progressive and contemporary therapies to patients that determine the origin of a patient’s pain. He evaluates and treats each patient with the interest, clinical expertise, cutting-edge training, and skill to relieve pain and restore vitality. Dr. Fowler has been recognized for these efforts by his peers and has regularly been acknowledged in Becker’s ASC Review’s Top Physicians and Leaders for over a decade.

An expert in understanding the workings behind pain and sensations, Dr. Fowler has managed several innovative projects focused on research and development in pain management and treatment. He has most recently conducted opioid reduction investigations on pediatric pain, which included implantation of baclofen pumps with the department of Pediatric Neurosurgery at Egleston Children’s Hospital in Atlanta. Dr. Fowler also served as the leading investigator for a long-acting opioid produced by Endo Pharmaceuticals survey for epidural use in the Emory University/Crawford Long System. He has also presented for 30 speaking engagements and workshops on a spectrum of pain conditions and management techniques at leading universities, hospitals, and conferences across the country. 

Dr. Fowler completed his residency and subspecialty fellowship training in anesthesiology and pain management at Emory University School of Medicine. He is an active member of the American Medical Association, American Academy of Pain Medicine, International Society of Pain, American Society of Anesthesia, Georgia Society of Anesthesiologists, American Society of Regional Anesthesia and Pain Medicine, Georgia Society of Interventional Pain Physicians, and the Ambulatory Surgical Center Association.
